Strategies for internationalization in higher education
Internationalization has become one of the most comprehensive
strategies for the development of higher education. Currently, it
covers not only the mobility and exchange of students, staff and
researchers, but also ‘internationalization at home’ and the export
of study programmes. The original objective of internationalization
– intercultural exchange and cooperation – has successively been
extended to also include global competitiveness. This module will
provide interested professionals with an up-to-date analysis of the
field.

Resource management in higher education
The
main objective of the module is to introduce participants to the key
concepts, paradigms and trends that relate to the resourcing of
higher education. Participants will also be made familiar with the
recent discussions that have taken place in policy circles and
popular press about funding and student support. The lecturers are
experienced researchers and practitioners in the field of higher
education finance. They will use a combination of lectures and
practical exercises to stimulate the participants’ thinking and
learning about the allocation of scare resources among competing
uses.
